Upholstery
Curtains collect dust, cooking odours and sun-fade evenly across a room, but most households never think to clean them until they're visibly duller than when they were new. The right treatment depends entirely on the fabric — get it wrong and you risk shrinkage or a ruined lining.

Sheers and voile are usually fine on a gentle wash, while heavy lined drapes and velvet typically need dry cleaning instead — the wrong call can shrink a lining unevenly or bleed colour on a home wash. For the full breakdown of what to check before deciding, see our guide on curtains: wash or dry clean.
We remove curtains from the rail or track, treat them according to their fabric, press them properly, and rehang when finished — and while they're down, we clean the rail or track itself, which normally never gets any attention once curtains are back up.
Curtains are down for the treatment window, so we coordinate timing carefully, especially for a main bedroom or living room where the room needs to stay usable.
