Pest Control

Bees Control

A bee hive established in a roof void, wall cavity or tree becomes a genuine safety concern once settled — but bees are also valuable pollinators, so we favour removal and relocation over extermination wherever the hive's location allows it.

01

Removal vs. Relocation

Hives in open, accessible spots — trees, exposed eaves, freestanding structures — are usually straightforward to relocate intact, moving the colony to a more appropriate location rather than destroying it. Extermination is reserved for cases where the hive's location or the colony's aggression makes safe relocation impractical.

02

Why Partial Removal Backfires

Hives established deep inside a wall cavity or roof void sometimes require partial structural access to remove completely. Rushing this step and leaving even a small part of the comb or colony in place is the most common reason bees return to the same spot within weeks — the residual wax and scent continue to attract scout bees looking for a new home.

03

What to Do Before We Arrive

Don't attempt removal yourself, and avoid disturbing the hive in any way — provoked colonies are considerably more dangerous than undisturbed ones. Keep the area clear and, where possible, keep windows and doors in the vicinity closed until our team arrives. Clear access on arrival (moving parked vehicles, unlocking gates) speeds up the whole job.

Good to Know

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the bees be killed?▾

Not by default — we assess the hive’s location first and relocate where it’s practically possible, since bees are valuable pollinators. Extermination is only used where the location or colony behaviour makes safe relocation genuinely impractical.

How dangerous is it to have a hive nearby before treatment?▾

An undisturbed hive is generally low-risk to people who aren’t provoking it, but risk rises sharply if it’s disturbed — by curious kids, pets, or DIY removal attempts. Keep distance and avoid disturbing it until we arrive.

Can you tell how big the colony is before starting?▾

We give an initial assessment based on visible activity and hive location, but the true size is often only clear once removal begins, particularly for hives inside wall cavities or roof voids.
